User Interface Designer

Our designer will own the look and feel of Jig on all platforms from mobile to desktop and beyond. If you are a generalist who enjoys working across disciplines, from visual design to interaction design and product management, we’d love to talk to you.

Requirements:

• BS or MS in HCI or equivalent.
• At least 2 years experience working on consumer web applications.
• Enthusiasm for useful social software.
• Bonus: Mobile app design, and visual design/illustration skills.

Software Engineer, Frontend

Our frontend engineer will be responsible for making our web UI fast, reliable, and sexy. This person will have the opportunity to own large pieces of the Jig frontend and will make important decisions about how UI is implemented.

Requirements:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Solid foundation in computer science: algorithms, data structures, complexity.
• Significant experience in javascript, html, css.
• Python and Java experience, though if you’re really good at a different language, we’re still happy to talk.
• Experience with javascript toolkits (e.g., jquery),  but also strong understanding of raw JS and DOM operations.
• Bonus: UI design sense, and experience with HTML mobile web apps.

Software Engineer, Backend

As a social product, Jig has interesting challenges for a talented backend engineer to keep the site fast and relevant as it scales to millions of users.

Requirements:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Solid foundation in computer science: algorithms, data structures, complexity.
• Significant experience in Python, Java, or C++.
• Bonus: Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval.

Software Engineer, Mobile

Mobile is a critical part of making Jig useful to anyone, anywhere. We’re looking to hire a talented mobile engineer who can help us build great apps on all major mobile platforms.

Requirements:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Solid foundation in computer science: algorithms, data structures, complexity
• Experience with either iOS or Android SDK and release process.
• Bonus: UI design sense, and experience with HTML-based mobile apps (geolocation api, touch events, etc).
